Friday Night Lights - what the cast did next

The sublime sports drama series Friday Night Lights sadly reaches its UK television finale on Sky Atlantic tonight.  Here's a look at what six of the cast have been up to, since the series left US screens in 2011.

Kyle Chandler - Coach Taylor.  Has had roles in a highly impressive run of movies, including Super 8, Argo and Zero Dark Thirty.  Will soon be seen in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street.

Taylor Kitsch - Tim Riggins.  Kind of the polar opposite to Kyle Chandler, has appeared in two very disappointing movies: Battleship and the financial catastrophe that was John Carter.  Was also in Oliver Stone's The Savages.  The big screen has yet to recapture the brilliance of his small screen performances.

Connie Britton - Tami Taylor.  Has continued to work on television.  Starred in season one of the acclaimed American Horror Story. Her latest show Nashville performed moderately well,  and has been renewed for a second season.  Incidentally, she was also in the 2004 movie of Friday Night Lights.

Aimee Teegarden - Julie Taylor.  Has appeared in the movies Scream 4 and Prom, but most interestingly she starred with Jackson Rathbone in the innovative Warner Bros web series,  Aim High.

Jesse Plemons - Landry Clarke.  The Matt Damon doppelgänger was also in Battleship and the critically adored (but dull) The Master.  Most impressively he took on a role of Todd,  in one of televisions finest series;  Breaking Bad.  A role that made quite an impact...

Jeremy Sumpter - J.D. McCoy - Arrived late to the show and left early, but probably one of the best known faces on the show - because in 2003 he was the titular character  in Universal's quality adaptation of Peter Pan. Was in Soul Surfer with Anna Sophia Robb.  Is working in five upcoming films, including horror movie The Culling.
