In its day this was the most financially successful, non Disney animation, ever. From the creative minds of Steven Spielberg, and ex Disney animator Don Bluth, this is a charming tale of a family of mice settling in America. At the movies heart is the impossibly cute mouse Fievel. The song Somewhere out there is used beautifully, and its influence could probably be seen in the music of The Little Mermaid - the movie that heralded the second golden age of Disney animation.
Ratatouille (2007).
The second rodent related movie of the week, is Pixar's wonderful tale about a rat that just wants to cook. A ride based on the movie is currently under construction at Disneyland Resort Paris. Two other of Pixar's finest are also available Wall-e and Up. As is the clapped out Cars 2.
A very dark, but wonderfully entertaining, movie
about a trio of smart orphans - and the obnoxious count Olaf.
Honey I Shrunk the Kids (1989)
A quality, live action Disney movie from the late eighties. The title pretty much says it all. Also interesting to see what movies looked like just before CGI gripped the industry.
