Ferris Bueller's Day Off & five other great teen movies on Netflix UK

The greatest teen movie of them all, has arrived on Netflix UK.  For the uninitiated,Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a classic eighties John Hughes comedy, featuring Mathew Broderick as the titular character.  As the end of his time at high school approaches, he skips school and tries to have the most awesome day.  But he needs to avoid being found out by his parents or over zealous head teacher.  With a charismatic performance by Broderick, fast cars and a glorious Beatles number - this is the perfect movie.

Say Anything (1989). A generation confused about why characters in Easy A and Modern Family stand outside buildings playing music, can find the original boom box scene in this Cameron Crowe classic.  Stars John Cusack.

Weird Science (1986).  Whilst this may not be amongst the very best of John Hughes movies;  There is still much to enjoy in this tale of two hopeless teens, who construct the perfect woman on their home computer.

The Hunger Games (2012).  A dystopian take on the teen movie, beautifully done.

Heathers (1988)  A very dark but brilliant take on the High School genre, with Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.

High School Musical 3 (2008).  The last movie in the HSM franchise was also the first to receive a theatrical release.  A fitting and emotional finale, for a well executed series of movies.  Zac Efron is excellent, as ever.
